Totally second that Uprooted recc, it's so goooood and the author's publishing another book in July. I'd also recommend the Queen's Thief/Attolia series by Megan Whalen Turner; the first book is kind of slow but it gets really good

I absolutely always suggest the Kate Daniels books. Don’t let the covers fool you: they’re amazing urban fantasy with a unique and well-rounded woc lead and awesome varied characters, and an interesting take on magic! They’re definitely my favorite books ❤️

oh i saw the movie recently, it was good but i usually dont read that kind of books. i love sci-fi, fantasy and history fiction books. i dont really read contemporary YA books. but thanks for rec xoxo

I saw a previous anon recommend The Bear and the Nightingale so you could maybe check out Deathless by Catherynne M. Valente If you're taking recs! People usually mention both books because of the Russian fairytale theme and, having read both of them, I can say they don't disappoint!

For a book recommendation, I think I remember you asking for books with queer characters so long ago, Kushiel’s Legacy by Jacqueline Carey is an amazing alternate history and fantasy with plenty of queer characters! I think you’d enjoy it

Oooh, book recs! I always use these opportunities to recommend the Witchlands series by Susan Dennard! Not only is she a great person (check her instagram out!) she's crafted a wonderful world in the Witchlands filled with spectacular characters :)

I also recommend And I Darken by Kiersten White. It's not fantasy but it is YA and the main character is seriously badass!

I highly recommend adding The Bear and the Nighingale by Katherine Arden to your reading list. It’s a trilogy and the third book is due to be released this august. I felt like it started of a bit slow but before I knew it I was completely hooked. It’s seriously great!
